Georgian craftsmanship, outstanding color & patina.
Satinwood
line inlays to the top/frieze/underside of top & legs.
Construction: The table has been inspected with the top removed- the underside of the table in almost completely
original undisturbed condition - the screws attaching the top to the base have been replaced -
One glue block is now lost- where the glue block once sat now shows an unoxidized
area of Pine secondary wood used on the frame-
Cross
brace dovetailed into the sides of the frame, the second cross brace affixed with visible period rose head nails-
As the two back legs are pulled from the frame to
supported the folding top- dovetails are visble at the rear where the sides and back of the frize are joined.
Condition: Superb color and patina and a nice mellow color
to the Mahogany veneers- minor veneer patch to underside of top lower surface- minor repairs to minimal areas of the
line inlay at legs and outer edges of the top- small filled area at right front leg- nothing excessive and quite normal for
a piece of this vintage.
